The Seasons Turn

Hi folks,
How are we all doing? The Summer is rushing by, and it continues to be a hot one for many of us. If you're anything like me (and for your sakes, I hope that you are in no way like me!) then it will not be a comfortable time of year. Hang in there...
Anyway, I'm writing at the start of a very busy few days, during which I'm hoping to maybe cross paths with some of you good people.
First of all, starting tomorrow, Wednesday 29th July, I play the first of my three shows at this year's Durham Fringe Festival. This will be my fifth consecutive year playing there, and this time I'll be at Leonard's Coffee House in Fowler's Yard from 6:20pm on the 29th, 30th, and 31st. The show is 1hr long, and will include a few songs of mine that rarely make an appearance, so if you can get along, please click here for full details and booking.
Then on Sunday, I'm off to play a 45 minute set at this year's Seaham Food Festival. This is a huge event spanning the whole weekend, and I'm excited to be performing a mix of originals and covers in the amphitheatre. Free to attend, I'm playing from 1:30pm, click here for details.
Also on Sunday, I'm performing my first Finna Session at The Red Lion in Alnmouth! This will mean leaving Seaham pretty much as soon as my set finishes to make the journey, but it's going to be so worth it. Scott Dolan is on before me from 4pm (I hope to make the start of his set) and I'll be on from 5pm. All original material, entry for this event is also free, so please do come along and support it if you can.
At least I have Saturday off right? Well, sort of. I'm driving down to Halifax (and back) on the Saturday with my eldest son to see Opeth! Having seen them before, I know what an incredible night it's going to be. I'm only glad that I'm not sufficiently familiar with their lyrics as to risk wrecking my voice for the Sunday. (I think I'll keep Monday as quiet as I can...)
'What else?', I hear you cry! Well, there are other gigs up on the Events page too, including a batch for the upcoming Autumn tour! You can check it all out here. There will be a few others added in the days ahead, but for now, please take a look at where and when I'm going to be, and if you can, join me!
Otherwise, things tick along. If you don't already do so, please give me a follow on Facebook and/or Instagram. Other ways of supporting what I do, include subscribing to Patreon, so please take a look at what's happening over there as well.
In terms of writing, I've been on a bit of a dry run of late, for some reason. There's certainly plenty to write about, but that doesn't always translate into material. That said, there are one or two things bubbling away, and I've been doing this long enough now to know that these spells don't last forever. So, I hope to be able to share some new stuff with you soon... perhaps on the upcoming Autumn tour!
That's probably enough for now, wouldn't you say? As always, CDs and copies of my book of lyrics, Stolen Bouquets, are all available from the Shop, and downloads can be found on Bandcamp. I'm more grateful than ever to be able to do what I do, and in its small way, much of it feels increasingly relevant. Thank you for listening.
Hope to see you somewhere soon. Mind how you go, won't you?
Love, as always...
Steve x
