Greetings from the frozen North!
(Not that frozen North! This isn't Father Christmas, I'm afraid, only me.)
With Winter truly taking hold, I thought I'd bring you my Yuletide Blog to let you know about my final shows of the year, and to see if I might be able to help with any gift ideas for the festive season... purely altruistically, you understand.
Before we get to that though, can I say a huge thank you to everyone who has come along to the recent shows and been so very supportive, as always, and to all the amazing people who've hosted and promoted me.. I've been especially touched by how popular my book Stolen Bouquets: Selected Lyrics has proven to be. And the feedback has been so encouraging. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. The couple of new songs that have made it into the set have also been received better than I dared to hope, along with some older numbers I've resurrected of late. As ever, I'm so enjoying being out and about; playing these songs and meeting fab folks, old friends and new.
As far as upcoming dates go, I'm heading to Bluebell Roots in Polegate (24th Nov.). Acoustic Folk, Eastbourne (26th Nov.), Walton Folk, Walton on Thames (29th Nov.), Annfield Plain Cricket Club, Co. Durham* (30th Nov.), and Seaton Sluice, Northumberland (5th Dec.). You can find all the details via the individual links over on my website. If you can make it along to any of these, do come and join me.
Oh, yes... Christmas! So, here's the thing: if you're wondering what to get for someone you love who loves music (or for someone you can't stand who can't stand music!) I'd like to think I can help. All my albums are available to order from my Bandcamp Page and as long as you get over there by the 12th December, I'll make sure orders are sent out in time to reach you for Crimbo. Also, you can order copies of Stolen Bouquets directly from this website here. (Same deadline applies) If any of that sounds of interest, please head over to the appropriate location ASAP and do what needs doin'. Also, of course, all of the above will be available at all my upcoming gigs from the merch stand.
That's probably sufficient for now.
All that remains to be said is that I wish you the very, very best for the festive season, and beyond. I sense that 2025 will come with its own set of challenges, some of which have been foreshadowed by recent events, of course. Hang in there won't you? Be kind to yourself, and to all you can. May you stay warm - inside and out - until we meet again... hopefully very soon.
Steve xx
