Striking Matches In The Wind - The Launch Concert

Saturday 14th March 2015 from 20:00

A very special evening to mark the launch of the new album. A beautiful setting, special guests and your first opportunity to get your hands on a copy of the album before its official release in April.

I am thrilled to be able to announce this special concert at the historic Tithe Barn in Dunster, Somerset on Saturday 14th March to launch ‘Striking Matches In The Wind’.

I’d be honoured if you could join me and my special guests to mark the album’s release. It will be the perfect setting for what I feel sure will be a memorable evening, as well as the first opportunity to get your hands on a copy of the album ahead of its official release at the beginning of April! The evening will naturally feature live performances of many of the songs from ‘Striking…’, along with some ‘old favourites’ and a special guest or two as well. I’m particularly excited to say that my good friend and sometime touring companion, Ange Hardy, will be joining me! Ange has been winning fans, respect and awards in the Folk music scene for a couple of years now and she graces the new album with her incredible voice on the song ‘There We Are’. We previewed the song on our tour last Autumn, and we’ll be performing it together on the night.

I’ve worked with a number of fantastic musicians on this album - including the highly gifted and insanely busy Lukas Drinkwater - and like Ange, they’ve each added something wonderful to the end result; capturing as they have, the soul of the songs they’ve played on as if they were their own… I am so far beyond overjoyed with their contributions! And the very same goes for my good friend and recording engineer supreme, Nigel Neill. In a million different ways, I couldn’t have done this without him.

This new record includes a couple of songs I’ve not previously played live so I’m especially looking forward to performing those for the first time, alongside other material I’ve been gigging for a little while and which has now found its way into the studio. I feel very happy with the way we’ve captured and represented these songs which mean so much to me; the chance to share them with you is near and I hope they may come to mean something to you too. They embrace and express heartache, resolve, love, redemption and above all… hope. And in doing so, will hopefully resonate with you, common as these things are to us all.

Tickets are just £7.00 and on sale now. You can book online at or you can always email me via the contact page for details of alternative methods, if you prefer. Tickets will be available on the door too, priced at £8.00 each.

I hope many of you will be able to join us on the night. If so…. see you there! SPx
