The first thing to say is a huge thank you for all your support this year. It’s been another strange one, hasn’t it, and doesn’t look like ending in any less strange a fashion, to be quite honest. What to say, except please do keep taking care of yourselves and everyone around you, and whatever your plans may be for the year’s end, I trust you’ll be able to enjoy them safely and close out the year well. We’ll face whatever 2022 has in store when it comes, but in the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas/holiday season.
So, yes, this Zoom gig I’m playing this coming Friday evening. Well, it’ll be a little different again and there will even be a small smattering of actual people in the room! For the most part, they will belong to my own household, along with a couple of dear friends from around the corner, with all of us tested and having behaved with utmost caution throughout, as we have. Point being, it will have a little different atmosphere to the other few online gigs I’ve played. And whilst it won’t be especially ‘Christmassy’ I terms of the song selection (there may be a couple though!), it will be a little more ‘festive’ and fun with opportunity too for those who are online to join in and heckle and such from time to time. All that said, I also intend to vent a few frustrations I’ve not had chance to vent given the recent gig cancellations… you’ve been warned! If this kind of thing sounds up your particular street though, you can click the Zoom link here to join me from 7:30pm. As previously, it’s free to access and there will be a PayPal link available to contribute any donation you may wish to make, if able, all of which are greatly appreciated. Also, on this occasion, 10% of all that’s made will be going to a new initiative called Folk For Refugees. Please check them out on their website; Facebook page and on Twitter… thank you. All of this information and the relevant links may also be found on the gig listing here.
I guess that’s pretty much it. Plans continue to be made ahead of beginning the new album early next year, about which I’m incredibly excited! I’ll be sharing more with you in due course, and if you would like access to even greater insight into the process as it comes together – as well as other info and material already posted – then please do consider subscribing to my Patreon page, more details of which you can find here.
I hope to see some of you in Friday then, but otherwise, go and have yourselves that merry little Christmas and I’ll see you very soon.
With much love and every good wish for the New Year…
Steve xx
