Firstly, huge thanks to all who've been along to recent gigs; signed up to the mailing list; bought CDs and more... it's all been greatly appreciated. As has the feedback that's been coming in of late - thank you! There have been a number of cracking gigs in my now-native North East - including the sell-out show at North Shields' award-winning Pie & Bottle Shop earlier this month. In fact, there are several songs available to view from that very night on Live In The North East's YouTube channel right here, including a special mash-up and a couple of covers too... please do check it out. (Thanks to the wonderful Dave Elliott for the great 'action shot' on the right as well as the filming he does for all LINE's superb gigs!)
The handful of dates in Somerset the other week were a thrill to play also! Beginning at the stunning Lion Inn in Timberscome and then the 'Oh What A Luverly War' shows on the Saturday and Sunday. Two shows, each packed-out with over 200 fab folks for my dear friend Nigel Neill's event with his incredible Street Choirs, themselves making up a further 100 souls! It was an honour to be part of and to be able to open each evening with a set, even including the choir at one point too... I shall not forget that in a hurry! We hope to be able to do it all again some time so watch this space. My thanks to Nigel, Kim (Fi Keene for the fab photo atop this blog!) and all the lovely, lovely people I met that weekend.
Looking ahead, I shall be appearing on Mentally Sound on Spice FM this Friday (30th) from about 12:30pm. I'm on with two great guys: Graham Grundy of Down By The River and more, plus Beano of RTProjects in Durham who, through creative expression, works to help those living with depression and anxiety-related conditions. Graham has organised an evening of music at Claypath Deli in Durham under the We Shall Overcome banner to help raise funds for this fantastic and vital work. (8th Dec.) We'll be chatting about the event - at which I'll be one of the three acts - and I may be playing a song or two as well, I believe. If you can tune in and listen, that'd be great. If not, it should be available as a podcast soon after. If you can make it along to the event itself on 8th December, we'd love to see you there! Full details may be found here.
There are details below of two other remaining gigs for 2018. (1st December - Greenside Cricket Club - and 15th December opening for The Stumble at Redcar Blues Club) before we find ourselves at the close of another year. And what a year! I do hope you're hanging in there... we'll make it through. x
Like the majority of us, I'm busy making plans for 2019, all of which are coming together and which I look forward to sharing more of with you soon. As for gigs, I'll be returning to some venues I've been to before as well as making it along to some new places as well. And there are one or two other irons in the fire too! As ever, if you'd like to host or promote a gig yourself - or have any suggestions of venues - please do feel free to drop me a line. From house concerts to Wembley Stadium, all suggestions considered. (Probably not that last one... bit unrealistic.)
CHRISTMAS SPECIAL OFFER: From 1st - 15th December, you can grab CD copies of 'Striking Matches...' and 'Somewhere Between' for just £10 each, ('14 Good Intentions' for £8!) or buy all three albums as a bundle for a mere 'n' merry £25!* Making the perfect prezzies, head to the Shop to get your orders in by 15th December to ensure festive delivery.
That'll do for now then. Doubtless we shall speak again before the year's end... if not at a gig then via the www.
With thanks and love,
Steve x
