NE Gigs

One reason for the relative quietness has been that I copped Covid again a few weeks ago (4th time unlucky) and, as is its wont, it left a lingering – subsequently, intermittent – fatigue. Coupled with this, my wife also contracted it and, suffering a particularly bad dizzy spell, fell and broke her ankle in two places. Unquestionably she has had the worst end of this bargain, but all in all, it’s made for an interesting few weeks for us both. She’s healing really well though, I’m pleased to say, and we’re certainly getting there.

Anyway…

I thought I’d drop a quick blog to, firstly, prove that I am still here and, secondly, to draw attention to a few upcoming appearances. This Friday, 14th July, I’ll be playing at the stunningly beautiful Café Under The Spire in Gateshead. There are still tickets available for anyone who might like to come along. The venue is just amazing, and as part of the ticket price (£25) there will be a Bangladeshi-style village street food buffet which I have on good authority is going to be amazing. In addition, there’ll be a full gig from your truly. Find out more here.

Then on this Sunday, 16th, I’ll be participating in an event organised by North East Against Racism which will be part of this year’s Ouseburn Festival. I’ll be chipping in a few songs, as will my good friend Sam Slatcher, plus there’ll be poetry and spoken word from the superb Steve Urwin, along with another good and talented friend of mine, the irrepressible Beano. Other performers and more will be contributing as well, it all runs between 12 noon and 5pm this Sunday at Little Buildings in Ouseburn, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. This is a free event and you can find out more here.

Finally – for the moment – I have three sessions at the Durham Fringe Festival this year on 26th, 27th and 28th July when I’ll be performing at the legendary Klute in the heart of Durham. Each performance will begin at 9:45pm and I’ll be on for an hour. Tickets are just £9 (£6 conc.) and you can find out all you need to know here.

Oh, and you’ve all seen the music video for The Stagehand’s Tale, right? No?!? Well then, feast your eyes upon it here… it’s a blast!

Beyond all of this, the Autumn Tour is coming together, some dates for which are already listed on the Events Page. Please check them out and join me along the way somewhere if you can.

See you somewhere soon, folks. With love, thanks, and every good wish.
