Final Dates of 2019!

On to jollier things...

Whilst it's not yet time for the final mail-out of the year, I'm reflecting a little on the gigs I've played in 2019 as I approach the final run of dates. I find that I enjoying gigging now more than I ever have and the response to the shows this year has been so very encouraging. Huge thanks to all who've come along; chatted after a gig or got in touch afterwards... it's all been such a great boost to me and means the world. FATEA Magazine also posted an 'On Tour With Steve Pledger' article a couple of months back which brilliantly covers 5 consecutive shows and can be found right here.

As those final gigs of the year loom on the horizon, I wanted to drop you a quick line to invite you all along to any you may be able to make. They're listed below and on the digital flyer, of course, but if you head to the Events page you can find them all in greater detail. 2020 gigs will also be starting to appear soon as they're also coming together. If you'd like to host a gig or house concert next year - or know of a venue you think would be good for me to play - please do get in touch and let's see what we can do! The plan is to make 2020 the busiest yet.

The upcoming shows kick-off with an On Trust Events gig. As many of you will already know, On Trust Events is a County Durham-based live music initiative which I started earlier this year - about which you can discover more here - and I'm thrilled to be playing one such event at Re-F-use in Chester-le-Street on 15th November. More of these will be coming up in the new year as well.

Following that, the dates include another in-store HMV set (this time in Newcastle); return visits to some of my favourite North East venues; another wonderful event alongside Devon & Somerset Street Choirs in Tiverton organised by my wonderful friend Nigel Neill, and my first time performing at the beautiful Kingskerswell Parish Church near Newton AbbotDevon. Throw in a crafty pub gig in Derby along the way; a co-headliner with the extraordinary Ma Polaine's Great Decline for Live In The North East and an evening at a beautiful coffee shop in Consett and you've pretty much got the whole shebang! Join me if and where you can for any of these shows... I'm looking forward to playing every one of them, and to all that awaits in 2020.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves...

Thanks also for the wonderful feedback for 'Alone In The Dark' which was officially released last month. It's all been fantastic and I couldn't be happier. There have been some wonderful reviews too, one of which you can read here, courtesy of folking.com. You can pick up a copy at any of the shows and also on CD or download from the Shop. And, if I may say, along with any of the other CDs available, they do make quite remarkable Christmas presents.... just a thought.

I think that's maybe it for now then. I hope to see many of you over the coming weeks and beyond. And hang in there, won't you? As a middle-aged, floral-shirted Folkie once remarked, "The stars they shine so bright on the blackest night.".

Shine on...

Steve x
