And So It Begins...

The world around us continues to amaze and confound... not always in the most positive of ways. I trust you're able to keep your heads up and navigate your way through these strange and challenging times in one piece. I hope too that in the coming months, many of us will cross paths at a gig or two and be able to encourage one another in song and good fellowship.

The main reason for this particular update is to let you know that I'll very soon be back gigging again (more details below) and to say that I'm also on the look-out for House Gig opportunities, should any of you be interested in hosting such a thing.

As you may be aware, I'm especially fond of this format and they can be a fun night for all concerned... even the host throwing wide their doors to all and sundry! Actually, it's not nearly as scary or random as all that, and neither does it require an above-average space in which to hold it. With a hospitable disposition and a few music-loving mates, they're surprisingly easy to make happen. Wherever you are, if you think this sounds fun (and it is!) and you'd like to know more, feel free to get in touch and we'll see what we can do. And if you're interested but not until later in the year, not a problem... let's talk! I'd love to see what we can make happen, and where.

There are other gigs happening too, of course, and more to announce as the days go by. My first show of 2020 happens on Friday 31st January in Durham, and it's an On Trust Event too. For any who don't know how these gigs work, you can find out more here but, basically, they have no fixed ticket price: you pay-as-you-feel and all are welcome. Just head here to reserve your place(s) which only takes a few seconds. This show takes place at the 'Open Art Surgery' at RTProjects where I played last July. This amazing mental health charity is one of the most inspiring places to be and I'm looking forward to going back there immensely.

As I say, more Gigs will be appearing on the website very soon, but for now, there is a selection of what's coming up below; I do hope you'll be able to make it along somewhere.

Don't forget that all my albums are available to order from the Shop as well as at the gigs, including the latest live release, 'Alone In The Dark', which appeared on a number of 'Best of the Year' lists, including Roots & Fusion's '25 Essential Albums of 2019'... all rather lovely.

Finally, around the turn of the year, I posted a new video of an unreleased song which I've only played live a handful of times; it felt appropriate and will be making it on to set lists this year for certain. If you've not yet seen and heard it, please check out 'Hope In Our Hands'.

All the best for now then... and thank you for being out there.
