A Single... A Tour... A Trip To The Studio!

Firstly, I'm more than a little excited to tell you about the single I'm releasing on 9th May! It's now a little over a year since 'Striking Matches In The Wind' came out and after all that has happened as a result of releasing the album, I wanted to give it a fitting 'send off' before I head in to the studio to record the follow-up. So, two tracks from the album - 'Matches In The Wind' and 'Quit Blubbin' In The Cheap Seats' - will be released on 9th May as a download-only single, available exclusively from this website for a mere 99p! I think these two songs offer a good idea of what the album is about and, as such, serve also as a good introduction to what it is I do... whatever that is!

The single has gone out to radio stations and is starting to pick up some extra airplay already so keep an ear out, won't you! And speaking of radio, I'm playing and chatting to Ben McGrail on BBC Radio Somerset tomorrow morning (Tuesday 26th) after 11am. Ben kindly invited me in ahead of the album's release last year so it'll be great to get the chance to drop by once again. Also, I'm playing live on air and chatting with Luke Knight on Apple FM in Taunton this Friday after 6pm, and next week, on the 4th May from 7pm, I'm back on 'Songwriters' Circle' speaking with Trevor Lloyd on 10 Radio, as well as playing live in the studio then as well.

There are a good number of opportunities to catch me at a gig over the coming weeks too. (see below for upcoming dates) I shall be here 'n' there from Devon up to the Isle of Skye so please do come along if you can get. Things kick off here in Somerset next Friday, 6th May, when I'll be playing a very special double-headliner with the wonderful Daria Kulesh at The Tithe Barn in Dunster! We're also in Exeter the following night and then later in May and June, I'll be flitting about the country to various places, including a much anticipated return visit to the North East as well as my first live dates in Scotland too.

Following a couple of final dates in June at Downend Folk Club and a special house concert for the fab Black Duck Folk, it's back to the studio! Some of you will have heard some of the new material at recent gigs and there'll be more new songs besides so I'm very much looking forward to getting my teeth in to this new project. I'll announce bits and pieces about the new album as things progress so keep yer eyes peeled!
