2016 Dates & a New Song!

So... first of all you may recall that I announced in my last blog that 'Striking Matches In The Wind' had been voted the 4th Best Album of 2015 at Laurel Canyon Music. I was further delighted to come 5th in their New Artist of 2015 poll, ahead of almost 80 others and the highest male artist on the list. All rather extraordinary and my thanks to any of you who may have voted. 'SMITW' also appeared on a number of 'Best of 2015' lists on various radio stations so all in all, I couldn't be happier with its little legacy as things stand!

As for the present, I'm pleased to report that there is a video of a new song up on YouTube! It's a song I've played live just once, at the end of last year, and it's been receiving some very encouraging feedback. It's called 'Other' and you can view it here on he website on the Videos page You can also view a cover of Alan Hull's 'Winter Song', which I recorded at the same time. Please take a look and feel free to share them around if you wish.

Live dates for the year ahead are now being announced and you can view them on the Events page and also find them listed below. I'd love to see you at one or more of them if you can make it... I'm certainly looking forward to being out there again. There will be more dates added over the coming days and weeks!
As for the near future, I'll be playing an informal gig again in my rather fantastic local - The Luttrell Arms in Dunster - on 10th Feb (all welcome... free entry) but my next gig proper will be on 20th Feb at The Blazing Stump Folk Club in Carhampton, Somerset and you'll find the details here.

I'll hopefully see you somewhere soon, but in the mean time... wishing you all that's good.
