Album of the Year Nomination!

A very Happy New Year to all!

I hope the last days of 2016 went well for you and that you feel re-energised and ready to face 2017. (Yeah, I know... me too.) ;o)

This first blog of the new year carries exciting news: 'Somewhere Between' has been shortlisted for the FATEA Magazine's Album Of The Year! This came as a complete and wonderful surprise to me when the 3 albums were announced on New Year's Day. The other two albums nominated have each been receiving a great deal of justifiable acclaim since their respective releases and they are 'Bloodlines' by Merry Hell and the latest offering from the legendary Seth Lakeman, 'Ballads of the Broken Few'. It goes without saying that to see 'Somewhere Between' nominated for such an award alongside these superb albums by such incredible artists feels as wonderful as it does surreal! The winner in this and all the respective categories will be announced on a special 2 hour show on Blues & Roots Radio from 8pm (GMT) on 13th January and you can listen here. My congratulations and best wishes to all the nominees in all the various categories, a number of whom I know and have worked with.

The album is also sitting high in the Laurel Canyon Music public poll for Album of the Year right now, which is also incredibly exciting. Thanks to all who have voted for it and if you wish to add your vote for this or any of the other albums on the list, you can do so here. (If you don' already follow Laurel Canyon Music on Facebook, you'll first need to join their page. They are a superb music resource and well worth following regardless. They're also up for a FATEA award too, in fact!) Many thanks indeed.

So, it's all rather exciting. And on top of all this, many of the dates for the 'Somewhere Between' Tour are now up here on the Gig page with tickets available. Please check out where I'm playing and come along if you can. And if you've not seen it already, I recorded a video in the dying days of 2016 of a song written back in March called 'For All That You Leave Behind' which is dedicated to all those we lost from the Arts last year... you can watch it here. Thank you.

I hope the coming year is kind to you and that we can find a path through the challenges that lie ahead. As I've said before, I don't believe that songs themselves can change the world, but there's no harm in singing a few as we seek to do what we can.

With thanks, love and many good wishes...
