The New Album, Gigs... and More!

The main news is that the new album is complete and I am awaiting delivery of it within the next few days. At which point, advance copies will be heading out to various publications and radio stations whilst I nervously await the reactions! The fact of the matter is that I'm really very pleased with the finished songs and very keen to share them with you. I'm so grateful to everyone who has already pre-ordered their copy too, and if you'd like to do likewise, then you can do so right here. Released on the 7th November, the album will be available exclusively from this website and at gigs initially, before going on wider release in the new year.

And on that very point... this Friday (30th Sept) from 11pm(bst) will be your first chance to hear one of the tracks from 'Somewhere Between' as FATEA's Neil King has a world exclusive on his superb Along The Tracks show on Blues And Roots Radio: he'll be playing 'Creation Is Laughing' along with the usual selection of other great songs too. Please do tune in and catch it if you can. You can listen via the mighty Blues And Roots Radio here. I'll try and keep upcoming radio play info up to date on Facebook and Twitter so please do make sure you're following me on those. I know that Sonic Bandwagon are also planning some airplay very soon so my thanks, as ever, to Andy Barnes and co! And, naturally, to Neil for helping to get the new stuff out there this coming Friday... don't miss it! A few interviews and sessions are in he pipeline too which I'll be tweeting about etc nearer the time.

Sales of tickets for the launch concert in the Main Hall at Dunster Castle in Somerset on 4th November have passed the halfway point so if you'd like to join us for what should be a very special event, find out more here. Plans are in place to make this show a little different too and it'd be wonderful if you could join me there. It looks like being a sell-out ahead of the date itself but please be aware that even if it isn't, there will not be tickets on sale on the door so you will need to book your ticket(s) in advance. Because of the rather amazing location, we need to do things this way and I trust that it won't be too much of an inconvenience for any of you.

I had a great time gigging in Exeter last week for the fab Twiggs Gigs with a cracking opening set from Ben Morgan-Brown. Next week I'm at Winchester Folk Club (5th), Maidenhead (7th) and Thurnby, Leics. on the 8th. Following these dates, I'm playing a special 'double-header' show with Ange Hardy on 26th in Uffculme, Devon. (Click here for details.) I also appear on hers and Lukas Drinkwater's new album, 'Findings', which is out now and causing quite a stir! There are tickets remaining for these gigs so please do come and join us if you can.

For reasons I shall not bore you with, this Autumn was kept purposefully quiet on the gigging front, despite the release of the new album. Circumstances have changed though and if I can get a few late bookings, I will. So do please keep an eye on the gig page for possible updates. My plan is to tour the album properly in the Spring and beyond so watch out for further shows in 2017. Meanwhile, if you know of anywhere near to you that you think might be a suitable venue, please do feel free to contact me. Equally, if you fancy putting on a gig yourself, drop me a line! Many thanks.

In my last blog, I mentioned a video from my set at Downend Folk Club earlier this year. You can now watch a performance from that night of 'Matches In The Wind' here. (For the record, the flowers were nothing to do with me!)

Thank you all so much for coming to gigs, buying tickets and CDs and the hugely encouraging feedback! As I say, I can't wait to share 'Somewhere Between' with you and I hope there'll be something in these songs that will be of some use to you; some interest... or even just something to tap your foot to. (Yes, you read it right!!!)

That's probably more than enough for now. I will pop up again before the album is released with a bit of an insight into the songs and the recordings; I've go an idea or two in mind so watch this space...

All the best for now, folks...
