A round-up of the news...

Welcome to the new look site! There is more to come but for now, this will hopefully be sufficient for all your SP requirements. (Such things EXIST?!?) I thought I'd put something together with all the latest news, updates etc because much of what was on the 'old site' has now disappeared from view and it seemed unnecessary to drag everything across. There'll be further bits 'n' pieces over the coming days too but I think all the main stuff for now is here.

Where to start? Well, as you may know, the new album - 'Striking Matches in the Wind' - is to be released on 2nd April and, I'm pleased to report, is available to pre-order from the new online shop NOW! I'm so looking forward to sharing these songs with you and getting it up on the site feels like another significant step towards that end. You can, of course, also still buy copies of '14 Good Intentions', now at the special price of £9.99 inc. P&P. ('Striking Matches...' is priced at £12.00 inc. P&P)

Ahead of its official release, there is the launch concert in Somerset on Saturday 14th March! Full details can be found over on the event page and tickets are available now from www.acoustickets.co.uk. It all happens at the stunningly restored Tithe Barn in Dunster, Somerset. Tickets are £7.00 in advance and £8.00 on the door. It will be a unique event and I'll be joined by several special guests including my good friend the award-winning and 2015 BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominated Ange Hardy. I hope you'll be able to join us for what I feel sure will be a wonderful evening, and the only place you can get your hands on a copy of the new album before 2nd April!

Having said that, you can grab a preview track as part of a free download of 18 artists/tracks courtesy of the wonderful FATEA. Their Spring Showcase Session download, 'Tides', is available to download free of charge here. It features some fantastic new music from a variety of artists including my song 'Friends & Fathers' from the new album. The download is picked up by various Folk/acoustic/roots radio stations and 'Friends & Fathers' has been receiving a fair bit of airplay and some incredible feedback (see below). It all hopefully bodes well for the album.

10 Radio, who broadcast out of Somerset, will be devoting their entire 'Songwriter's Circle' programme on Wednesday 25th February to the new album. I'll be joining Trevor Lloyd in the studio to chat about the record, play a couple of songs live and Trevor will be playing a few tracks off of the album too! The show runs from 5pm - 7pm and you can listen online here. Hope you can tune in! I'll also be doing my first Antipodean interview for the fab Curved Radio who are based in Sydney, Australia. All I know right now is that I'll be chatting with them at 1:30pm on Sunday 8th March which is 1:30am on Monday 9th March over there! Think it's going out live though so you can listen here, if you fancy. They'll also be playing a track or two from the album as well.

Other plots and plans are a bubblin' so more to come shortly. In the mean time, I hope you like the new site and see you very soon, all being well! Don't forget to check in on my Facebook page and Twitter feed for regular updates.

Peace... Steve xx

Some of the feedback from presenters playing 'Friends & Fathers':

'A wonderful, wonderful song and if the rest of the forthcoming album is anything like as good as that, it'll be one to get hold of.'. (Gary Hazelhurst, Stafford FM)

'Steve is a wonderful singer, great guitar player. He says it like it is with unambiguous lyrics and boy can he tug at the heart strings; the man is a genius at that.' (Of 'Friends & Fathers') 'Understated, gorgeous and totally heart-wrenching.' (Andy Barnes, Sonic Bandwagon)
